BCC GRAND PRIX: MANZO TOPS IN OPEN SECTION // FENG 1ST IN U1800 // PRIZE WINNERS EMERGE

OPEN SECTION
NM Eric Godin plays black vs Matthew Manzo:
Matt stayed the course: won the game, & up'd rating 158 points!
Bravo Matthew!
Matthew took 1st place in Open Section with 3.5 points.
Eric shared 2-4th place with Andrew Hoy 
and Carissa Yip, each scoring 2.5 points.
Andrew Hoy, black vs Alex Yu, Round 4.
Carissa Yip went undefeated scoring an
 impressive 2.5/3, sharing 2-4th place in the
 Open Section, bringing her rating to 2017.
 
Mike Griffin, black vs Harold Dondis, Esq.
At 91 years young, Harold is still the most impressive
senior on the amateur chess tournament circuit,
scoring 2/3 in the Open Section, good for 5th place.

U1800 SECTION
Steve Stepak vs Eric Feng, Round 3.
Eric won the game and the U1800 Section with 3.5 points.
Stepak came in 2nd with 3 points.
David Martin, black vs Edward Morris, Round 2.
David won the game, scoring 2.5 points, sharing 3-5th place
 and clinched 1st prize in the U1600 Category for the year.
Richard Kahn, black vs Boshen Li, Round 1.
Richard scored 2.5 points and shared 3-5th place
with David Martin and Ray Behenna.
Derek Jin plays Boshen Li in Round 4.
Derek scored 2/4 plus helped his team
to win the soccer game in between.

Ray scored 2.5 points to share 3-5th place.
YOUTH VS VETERAN
Brandon Wu plays Mike Griffin in the Open Section, Round 4.
Their game was the last to finish in the event:
a hard fought game which ended in a draw.
