From Je ne regrette rien... :
I take the city as it comes, breathe it in breathe it out. It entertains me with its mere existence, as I play my part in its daily game of chess. It always wins.
I'm reminded of a quote attributed to musician Robert Fripp -- something like "...being in the city forces one to be more alive."
